OLD TIME CHESS PIE | |
1/2 c. butter or 1 stick butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 3 whole eggs 1 tsp. cornmeal 1 tsp. vinegar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. cornmeal Soften butter to room temperature. Beat in sugar and the eggs. No need to cream sugar and butter unless you are the kind that likes to revive the pleasure of making mud pies. When these 3 are linked together as one, sprinkle the cornmeal, vanilla and vinegar over the top of mixture and beat until well mixed. Pour in an unbaked 8" or 9" pastry. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until filling has set. |
