SUGAR FREE FRUITY OATMEAL
COOKIES
 
2 sm. (or 1 lg.) ripe banana
2 c. unsweetened applesauce
3 tbsp. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. oatmeal
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. currants or raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degree. Combine bananas, applesauce, butter, eggs and vanilla. In large bowl, mix together oatmeal, flours, baking soda, salt, spices and currants or raisins. Add fruit mixture to dry ingredients until blended. Drop by tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Makes 40 cookies.

I made these and took them to a friend who is on limited sugar intake and in a nursing home. She loved them. I tasted them when I returned home and I like them too.

They're good for what they are! I added more raisins to mine, but otherwise these are pretty good sugarless options for cookies. The texture is lovely and fluffy.

I absolutely love this recipe. I gave some to my 13 year old niece (who by the way eats a lot of sweets) and she loved them. Thank you for sharing. I also added more raisins in mine. What I did was after dropping in the mixed batter, if I saw any cookies without raisins, I would simply drop a few more raisins inside. That way all of my cookies had raisins.
