OLD FASHIONED PENUCHE ICING 
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. milk
1 tbsp. white Karo syrup
2 tbsp. shortening

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, stirring constantly. Boil hard for one minute without stirring. Remove from heat. Let cool slightly, then stir or beat until spreadable.
