OLD FASHIONED VANILLA ICE CREAM | |
2 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 3 eggs, beaten 5 c. milk (use 2% or whole milk) 2 tbsp. vanilla 1 can Eagle Brand milk Combine sugar, flour and salt in saucepan. Gradually stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, about 20 minutes. Beat eggs and gradually stir some of the hot mixture into the eggs. Add egg mixture to remaining hot mixture. Add Eagle Brand milk and vanilla, stirring constantly. Cook about 5 minutes longer and strain into freezer. (This removes any egg that is lumpy.) Finish filling the freezer with milk and chill overnight. Freeze as directed. |
