ICE BOX ROLLS
1 yeast cake (pkg.)
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2/3 c. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. sweet milk
2 eggs
Use plain flour

Soften yeast in lukewarm water, add shortening, sugar, salt and potatoes to the milk which has been scalded. When cooled to lukewarm, add yeast. Mix thoroughly and add well beaten eggs and stir in enough flour to make a very stiff dough.

Turn out on a floured board and knead well. Put into a large bowl to allow for slight rising. Cover with a cloth and set in the refrigerator. When wanted cut off as much dough as needed. Shape into rolls. Let rise until double in size. Bake in hot oven until golden brown. Temperature 425 degrees.
