MILE HIGH YELLOW BUTTER CAKE 
3/4 c. butter (1 1/2 sticks)
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 c. sifted cake flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. milk

Generously butter bottoms of three round cake pans and dust with flour in mixing bowl. Cream butter gradually; add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add vanilla.

Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Divide evenly into pans. Bake 25-30 minutes; cool in pans on wire rack for 5 minutes.
