ENGLISH PLUM PUDDING 
1 c. chopped suet
1 c. raisins
1 c. currants
1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped carrots
1/4 lb. lemon and orange peels
2 medium apples, chopped
6 English walnuts, chopped
3 tbsp. molasses
3 tbsp. jam
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt, nutmeg, allspice, and cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1 c. sour milk or buttermilk

Mix well together. Steam in mold 3 hours. Serve with hard sauce.
