PURPLE PLUM PUDDING 
10 - 12 prune plums
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 c. bread cubes (1/2" cubes)
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Wash and pit plums. Coarsely chop plums to make 2 cups. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time; beat well after each addition. Stir in chopped plums, bread cubes and spices. Pour into greased five to six cup baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, or until center is set. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired. Serves 6 to 8.
