COFFEE CAKE WITH TOPPING 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. sour cream (sm. carton)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream. Beat well gradually adding flour, baking powder and soda. Place 1/2 mixture in greased 9 inch tube pan and sprinkle with 1/2 the topping mixture, place remaining mixture on top and sprinkle with remaining topping. Bake 1 hour or until knife comes out clean. Remove from pan sprinkle on powdered sugar while still hot. Cool 15 to 20 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 c. finely chopped nuts
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix these ingredients and sprinkle evenly between layers and top.
