ENGLISH APPLE PIE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon, divided
3 tbsp. water
1/2 c. chopped pecans
4 lg. cooking apples, about 6 c.
1/2 c. extra sugar

In medium bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and water. Beat until smooth. Stir in nuts.

Mix apples with the extra 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Spread apples in a deep dish pie plate. Spoon pecan mixture over the apples in large spoonfuls.

Bake on lower oven rack at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes until apples are tender. Serve in bowl with cream. Best if served warm.
