SPLIT PEA SOUP 
1 (16 oz.) pkg. split peas
7 c. water
1 (1 1/2 lbs.) smoked pork hock
2 c. diced potatoes
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. celery, cubed
1 c. sliced carrots
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. bottled red pepper sauce

Place in slow cooker. Cook on proper setting according to manufacturer's directions for 6 to 8 hours. Makes 10 1/2 cups.
