BREAD PUDDING 
2 c. scalded milk
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 slices buttered bread
1/2 c. raisins
Pinch salt

Put buttered bread in pan. Pour over scalded milk, sugar, beaten eggs and vanilla. Add raisins. Sprinkle nutmeg on top. Place pan in shallow pan on oven rack. Pour hot water around it 1 inch deep. Bake at 325 degrees about 45 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
