DOUBLE-BOILER BREAD PUDDING 
1 c. brown sugar
3 slices white bread, buttered
1/2 c. raisins
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. milk
Dash of salt

Put sugar in top of double boiler; over this place buttered bread cut into cubes. Beat eggs until light; add vanilla, salt, milk. Pour mixture over bread. Cook about 1 hour. Don't stir while cooking. The brown sugar forms a caramel sauce.
