MUSHROOM PORK CHOPS 
6 to 8 pork chops
1/2 stick butter
1 sm. onion
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can water
Salt (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)

Flour pork chops. In baking dish, put in softened butter. Arrange pork chops in pan; cover with salt and pepper to taste and sliced onions. Add cream of mushroom soup; rinse with 1 can of water. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

It means to infer "season to your own taste". It doesn't mean that you should taste the pork chops. Some people like less salt, others prefer more. "To Your Own Taste". Don't be so literal!

Can do this same exact thing with a small roast. I usually buy a London Broil (cut in half & freeze)... This recipe makes the best gravy... as the juices from the meat mingle with the soup & onion. Just finished a small piece of roast this way. Mashed Potatoes & green beans on the side. Yum!
