3 c. unsifted flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. real mayonnaise
1/3 c. milk
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
3 c. chopped, peeled apples
1 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Cool Whip or sweetened whipped cream (about 2 c.)

In large mixer bowl, combine first 10 ingredients and mix 2 minutes at low speed (or 300 strokes by hand). Stir in apples, raisins, and nuts; mix thoroughly. Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round cake pans or 13 x 9 x 2 inch glass pan. Spoon batter into pan(s). Bake in 350 degree oven about 45 minutes or until straw comes out clean.

If desired, frost with Cool Whip or sweetened whipped cream. If frosted, cake must be refrigerated before and after serving.
