THERESA'S SOUR CREAM POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter, softened
3 c. sugar
6 eggs, separated
8 oz. sour cream
3 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2-1 tsp. almond extract

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour tube or bundt pan. If a tube pan is used, bottom may be lined with paper.

Cream butter and sugar. Add 6 egg yolks, beating well after each addition. Add 8 ounces sour cream. Gradually add flour and soda, mixing well. Add vanilla and almond extracts. Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and fold into above mixture. Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until straw inserted into middle comes out clean. DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR FOR THE FIRST HOUR. (If oven tends to run hot, cook for 15 minutes less.)
