TOMATO CHILI SAUCE | |
12 lg. tomatoes 2 lg. green peppers, chopped 2 lg. onions, chopped 2 c. sugar 2 c. 5% acid strength vinegar 2 tbsp. pickling salt Peel tomatoes (squeeze some of seed out). Cut into chunks. Combine tomatoes, green pepper, onion, sugar, salt and vinegar in large kettle. Bring to boil - reduce heat and simmer 2 hours. Ladle into sterile pint jars, adjust lids. Process in boiling water 5 minutes. Makes 3 pints. |
