DUTCH APPLE BREAD | |
2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 5 tart apples, pared and sliced 1 c. milk 2 tbsp. butter Sugar and cinnamon 1 egg Sift flour; add baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut shortening into dry ingredients as for pastry. Add beaten egg and milk. Beat thoroughly until well blended. Spread in a greased shallow pan. 8 x 12 inches. Press apple slices over the top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. |
