BANANA CAKE 
1 stick butter
3 eggs, separated
3 to 4 bananas, mashed
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 sm. container sour cream
3 c. flour
1 c. nuts (optional)

Mix butter and sugar; add sour cream and the yolk of the eggs. Add flour, soda, and baking powder. Add vanilla and egg white (beaten stiff). Add banana and mix thoroughly. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

WHITE FROSTING FOR BANANA CAKE:

3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch

Mix and smooth before putting milk in. 1/2 c. butter 1/2 c. shortening Dash of salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. almond flavoring

Cook sugar, cornstarch, and milk on medium until thick, stirring constantly. Set aside and let cool completely. Beat butter and shortening, vanilla, salt, and almond flavoring. (Stir milk, sugar, and cornstarch mixture and slowly add butter mixture and beat until smooth.)
