OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. raisins

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Add buttermilk and vanilla and mix well. Add to this mixture remainder of dry ingredients and raisins. Drop by rounded teaspoons on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes.
