SIRLOIN STEAKS WITH HORSERADISH CREAM SAUCE | |
Serves 2. 1 (1/2 inch thick) sirloin steak or 2 sm. strip steaks 2 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tbsp. butter 1/2 sm. onion, chopped 1/3 c. whipping cream 1 1/2 tsp. prepared horseradish 1 1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard Freshly ground pepper Melt butter and oil in a heavy skillet over high heat. Add steaks and sear on each side. Cook to desired doneness and remove from pan or transfer to oven to finish cooking. Add onions to pan. Reduce heat to medium and cook until softened, stirring. Add cream, horseradish, mustard and pepper to taste. Spoon over steaks. |
