SOUTHERN OATMEAL COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. oats
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream Crisco and sugars; mix eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and soda. Fold into creamed mixture. Stir in oats and nuts. Roll into walnut size balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Yield: 6 dozen.
