CARAMEL CAKE 
1 c. plain flour
1 c. self rising flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 c. sweet milk
6 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs one at a time. Alternate flour and milk. Mix well. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 4 round layers.

ICING:

1 box light brown sugar
1 1/2 c. white sugar
1 c. Carnation milk
2 sticks butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all together in thick boiler. When it comes to a rolling boil, cook exactly 2 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat. Pour in mixing bowl and beat 5-6 minutes on high speed. Spread on cake.
