CARAMEL CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease and flour 2 cake pans. In mixing bowl, mix cake ingredients. Pour into prepared pans and bake for 30 to 40 minutes

FROSTING:

3 c. sugar
2 c. whip cream
1/2 c. real butter
1/4 c. light corn syrup
1 tbsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients, except vanilla. Pour into small saucepan and cook on medium heat until 240 degrees or soft. Add vanilla. Cool and apply to cake.
