IRISH SODA BREAD 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. caraway seed, optional
3 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. raisins

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and caraway seed in large bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Make a well in center; pour in milk and work into make a soft dough. Add raisins; knead dough until smooth, about 1 minute.

Shape into a 5 inch disc and put in pan. Cut a 1/4 inch deep cross in the top. Brush top with milk. Bake until golden brown, about 35 minutes.
