IRISH SODA BREAD 
4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. caraway seeds
2 c. raisins
1/4 c. butter
1 1/3 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease round, heavy skillet. Sift flour, salt, sugar, baking powder together; stir in caraway seeds. Cut in butter. Stir in raisins.

In separate bowl, combine buttermilk, egg and baking soda. Stir into flour mixture until just moistened. Put butter in pan. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees.
