GRANDMOTHER HOAR'S KIELBASA SOUP 
1 lb. smoked kielbasa, cut in 1/4-inch slices
1 med. onion, chopped (1/2 c.)
1 med. green pepper, chopped
2/3 c. uncooked regular rice (not minute rice)
1/2 c. water
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can beef broth
1 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (20 oz.) can red kidney beans

Cook and stir kielbasa and onion in a 4-quart kettle or Dutch oven until onion is tender. Use medium heat.

Stir in remaining ingredients except beans. Break up tomatoes with a fork. Heat to boiling.

Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add beans and heat for 5 minutes more.

I have this exact recipe & get the MOST compliments for it!! You cannot beat the all-day flavor this meal provides in 30 minutes. Also very cost-effective & can be easily doubled/tripled to feed large crowds.

As with any stew, it is even better the next day....assuming you have anything left after the first offering. I usually have to make extra to have leftovers :)
