NEVER FAIL PEANUT BRITTLE | |
3 c. white sugar 1 c. white Karo syrup 1/2 c. water 3 c. raw peanuts 3 tsp. butter 1 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda Boil sugar, syrup and water until long thread spins. Add peanuts, stirring constantly. Cook until light golden brown, approximately 5 minutes, at medium heat. Take from heat, stir in salt, soda and butter, then pour out on well greased shallow pizza pans or cookie sheets. Makes about 3 pounds. Be sure to have pans or board well greased before even starting, because you can't leave the candy once you start. When cold, break into size you prefer. |
