EVA'S PORK & BEANS 
2 bags pink beans (2 lb.)
1 pkg. ham hocks
1 brick chili con carni
1 lg. white onion
1/2 lb. bacon
4 sm. cans tomato sauce (or 1-1 1/2 med. size cans)
Liquid smoke, to taste
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 tsp. baking soda, optional

Cut bacon into small pieces and cook until crisp. Cut onion into pieces and saute until brown in bacon grease.

Cook beans with ham hocks. When beans are almost done add chili, onion, bacon, tomatoes and seasonings. Continue cooking until desired consistency, stirring often to prevent burning on the bottom.

The baking soda will help eliminate the gas caused by the beans, it is not required for any other reason.
