DIVINITY CANDY 
2 egg whites
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white Karo syrup
1/8 tsp. salt
2/3 c. water
1 1/2 c. pecans
1 tbsp. vanilla

Cook sugar and syrup, water, and salt to soft ball stage. Pour 1/2 of this mixture on firmly beaten egg whites. Continue cooking other half of sugar mixture until it reaches hard ball stage. Pour this over egg whites; add nuts and vanilla and continue beating until mixture is creamy. Drop by spoon on buttered cookie sheet.
