OLD FASHION CHICKEN DUMPLINGS | |
2 cups all-purpose flour 4 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. shortening Cut shortening into flour, mixed with baking powder and salt. Use milk to make a stiff dough (3/4 cup is sufficient). Shape into dumplings by rolling very thin and cut as desired. Drop into boiling chicken broth and cook 12 to 15 minutes, slowly. Cook in covered pot, but do not stir or remove from pot until ready to serve. |
