2 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 c. sugar or honey 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter or corn or safflower oil 1/2 tbsp. dry yeast 3/4 c. milk 1 egg, well beaten TOPPING: 1 tbsp. butter 1 tbsp. flour 2 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. chopped nuts Melt butter and mix thoroughly with remaining ingredients. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. If butter is used, cut it in until fine as cornmeal, but if oil is used, add yeast to milk, then add beaten egg, then add oil. |
