QUICK BEER BREAD 
4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. butter
4 tsp. caraway seeds
2 eggs
3/4 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. beer

In bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda; mix thoroughly. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs; stir in caraway seeds. Beat together eggs, buttermilk and beer. Add to flour mixture all at once, stirring with fork to make soft dough. On lightly floured surface, knead lightly about 10 times.

Roll dough into oval to fit greased 9 x 5 inch pan. Using serrated knife, carefully slash top lengthwise down center. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours or until crust is golden brown and tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan and let cool on wire rack.

Makes 1 large loaf.
