1 c. meal
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. sugar
1 egg
1 large onion, chopped
1/4 c. buttermilk
water (to thin)

Mix together meal, flour, sugar, egg, onion and buttermilk. Add water to thin. Deep-fry.
