CRANBERRY - PEAR CHUTNEY 
2 firm pears
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
5 oz. fresh cranberries, rinsed & drained
1/2 cinnamon stick
1/4 tsp. grated orange zest

Peel pears and cut into 1/2 inch cubes. Don't cool. Bring sugar and water to a boil. Add pears, cranberries, cinnamon and orange zest. Return to boil and then reduce heat and simmer 12 minutes, stirring frequently. When cool serve.
