COCONUT CREAM PIE 
1 pt. milk, scalded
1/2 c. sugar, scant
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. cream cornstarch
2 egg yolks
1/3 c. coconut
2 tbsp. sugar

Scald milk in double boiler, add sugar, salt, cream cornstarch, egg yolks and vanilla. Thicken and cool. Add coconut.

MERINGUE:

2 egg whites
2 tbsp. sugar

Spread on pie and sprinkle with coconut. Brown meringue.
