PUMPKIN LAYER DESSERT 
2 eggs
3/4 c. granulated sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
Cinnamon to taste
Nutmeg
16 oz. Cool Whip
3/4 c. homo. milk
2 sm. packs instant vanilla pudding
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin (not pudding)

Using 9 x 13 pan, place graham cracker crumbs covering bottom. Mix egg, sugar and cream cheese. Layer this over graham crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool completely. Mix milk with vanilla pudding packages. Blend well then add pumpkin, dash of cinnamon and nutmeg. Fold in 1 cup Cool Whip. Layer over cream cheese. Top with remaining Cool Whip and sprinkle with nuts.

I made a graham cracker crust... Not just a layer of dry crumbs.. Worked much better!

I would still make the crust with the pecans but only if you like it better than graham crackerp- personal preference.
