HOT HERB BREAD 
1 loaf Italian or French bread
1/2 c. butter, softened
2 tbsp. Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp. chopped garlic
1/4 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. oregano (optional)
Dash of black pepper (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In small bowl blend butter, cheese, garlic and seasonings. Cut bread diagonally at 3/4 inch intervals (almost to bottom crust).

Spread herb butter between slices. Wrap bread in aluminum foil and bake for about 15 minutes or until herb butter is melted and bread is hot. Makes 12 to 14 slices.
