JEN'S STRETCH A CHEAP BOTTLE OF WINE SANGRIA | |
Prepare this the night before or early in the morning of your party! 1 (750 ml.) bottle red wine (inexpensive!) 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1 shot Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum 1 each orange, tangerine and lemon OR lime (you can add slices of both lemon and lime but only the juice from one) 2 cups ginger ale large pitcher storage bag Roll each piece of citrus fruit several times with the heel of your hand to break up the membranes. Cut each piece of fruit so that one half is slightly bigger than the other. From the large half, cut 2-3 thin slices and store them in a storage bag in the fridge. Squeeze the juice out of the remaining pieces of fruit (remember, don't add BOTH lemon and lime juice - its too acidic) in to the pitcher. Add the sugar, rum, and red wine. Stir to mix and store overnight in the fridge. Just before serving, add the ginger ale and fruit slices to the pitcher and give another stir. Submitted by: Jennifer |
