SUGAR COOKIES 
Sugar cookies, rolled
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1 c. butter
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream sugar, butter and egg until smooth. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients (flour, soda and cream of tartar). Stir into former batter. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

In part confectioners' sugar and flour roll batter thin, cut with cookie cutters. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake 7-8 minutes or until lightly browned.
