FILLED COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
3 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Sift and add dry ingredients with milk. Chill dough 1 hour. Roll out in circles. Add some filling, cover with another circle. Press edge of dough with fork. Place on greased cookie sheets and bake at 375 degrees until light brown.

FILLING FOR COOKIES:

1 pkg. raisins
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
1 whole orange, skin on

Put raisins and orange through grinder. Place ground fruit and sugar, water and flour in saucepan. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Let cool.
