FILLED DROP COOKIES 
COOKIES:

1 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/4 c. warm water
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
4 c. flour

FILLING:

1 c. raisins
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Mix together, cook until thick and cool.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Beat well, dissolve soda in warm water. Add to mixture. Add vanilla. Sift flour and salt. Drop dough on cookie sheet, heaping teaspoon. Make dent and add 1 teaspoon filling on each cookie. Add about 1/2 teaspoon dough on filling. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.
