1 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. wine
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 lb. mixed cherries
1/2 tsp. all spice
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. finely chopped pecans
1 lb. raisins
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tbsp. milk

Cream sugar and butter; add wine and eggs. Gradually add 1/2 of the flour. use rest of the flour on mixed fruit. Add to mixture. Add the spices, nuts, and raisins. Add soda, dissolved in milk. Stir mixture well. Drop from spoon onto cookie sheet. Put pan of water under cookies in oven. Bake 30-40 minutes at 300 degrees.
