RAISIN BREAD CUSTARD 
2/3 c. raisins
2 tbsp. butter
2 2/3 c. 1/2 inch bread cubes
2 eggs
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 2/3 c. hot milk

Melt butter and pour over bread cubes. Fold in raisins. Turn into baking dish. Beat eggs. Add sugar and salt. Gradually stir in hot milk. Pour over bread and let stand 15 minutes. Set baking dish in pan of water and bake in moderate oven (350 degrees) for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until a knife inserted in the custard comes out clean. Yields 6 servings.
