BRAN MUFFINS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1 c. Bran Flakes
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk (or sour milk)
1/2 c. dates or raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs. Mix dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Stir in fruit and nuts. Spoon into paper lined muffin tins, 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
