2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda (baking)
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
3 c. all-purpose flour, more if needed

Cream this together, and add enough flour to make a stiff dough. You can roll and cut on a pastry sheet or make in a roll and chill; then slice. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes on a greased pan.
