ANGELA'S HOMEMADE COUNTRY BISCUITS | |
2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tsp. Kosher salt 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. Accent (MSG; optional) 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted real butter (cold) 3/4 cup 2% milk (cold) butter flavored non-stick cooking spray (Pam) Place rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix well together flour, salt, baking powder and Accent (if using). Cut butter into 1/2-inch slices and add to flour. Cut in with cutter (you can also use two knives) until butter is in small balls and coated well. Add milk and mix until forms a ball. You can use your hands to form it all together. Do not knead it, just form it into a ball. Lay out on lightly floured surface and knead 5 to 6 times. Roll out to 1/2-inch thick with a rolling pin. Use a cutter or glass to cut out biscuits. Form extra into a ball gently and roll back out to get remaining biscuits. Spray cookie sheet with Pam where each biscuit will be. After biscuits are placed, spray each top lightly but heavy enough to moisten tops. Bake at 350°F for 12 minutes. Set oven to broil on high and carefully brown tops, about 3 minutes. Enjoy! Note: Baking times are for my oven for best results, yours may vary. Submitted by: Angela Patty |
