SNOW BALL CAKE | |
2 env. unflavored gelatin (Knox) 4 tbsp. cold water 1 cup hot water 1 cup sugar 1 cup crushed pineapple 1/2 tsp. salt juice of 1 lemon 1 angel food cake (prepared or from mix) 3 env. Dream Whip, divided 1 bag coconut flakes, for sprinkling Dissolve gelatin and cold water and add boiling water. Set aside. Combine sugar, pineapple, salt and lemon juice. Add to cooled gel mixture. Let partially congeal. Beat 2 packages of Dream Whip as directed then fold into gelatin mixture. Rub brown off angel food cake, then break into bite size pieces. Line large bowl with wax paper (or spray with non-stick cooking spray). Place layer of cake and layer of gelatin mixture in bowl alternately until all is used. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Turn upside down on plate and frost with remaining envelope of Dream Whip. Sprinkle with coconut flakes. |
