REAL PECAN PIE 
This recipe will make you wish you had pecan trees.

3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 c. dark corn syrup
Pinch of salt
16 pecan halves
9" pie crust

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Cream butter and vanilla. Add sugar gradually while mixing. Add eggs, one at a time, while mixing. Blend in pecans, syrup and salt. Pour in crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and arrange pecan halves on top of pie. Continue baking 25-30 minutes at 400 degrees. When pecan halves start to look parched it is done.
