STEAMED VEGETABLE DUMPLINGS | |
I LOVE the slap chop from the Pampered Chef. I am also a vegetarian and am always looking for yummy ways to prepare my vegetables. I just so happen to love steamed dumplings from Chinese restaurants. However, they usually are pretty large and can easily be consumed without being conscious of portion size. That's why little dumplings are just the trick. 1 pkg. fresh mushrooms 1/2 large red pepper 1 garlic clove 3 small dumpling wrappers non-stick cooking spray (Pam) soy sauce, black pepper and oregano for seasoning Chop the mushrooms, red pepper and garlic together and add to a "Pammed" frying pan on a low heat. Let them sauté for 5 minutes and then season with some crushed black pepper, oregano and soy sauce. Raise the flame a bit and let them sauté for another 7 minutes. While the vegetables are getting delicious, boil a small pot of water and add a pinch of salt. Remove the vegetables from the frying pan and place in a bowl to let cool. Take your first dumpling wrapper and brush with a small amount of water. Spoon a tablespoon of the vegetables onto the wrapper and press the edges together so that they stick. Do this with the other two wrappers. Place the dumplings into the boiling water and allow them to steam for another 5 to 10 minutes. Enjoy! Submitted by: TChick |
